A particular aspect of psychotherapy is its relevance to those going through a process of migration. Migrants face many emotional and mental challenges related to uprooting, adapting to a new culture and uncertainty about the future.

The migration process is exacerbated by experiences of homesickness, frustration, stress, depression and anxiety due to various factors such as separation from loved ones, difficulty in communicating in the local language, racism, cultural adaptation, etc.

Therefore, psychotherapy offers a space to process thoughts, explore emotions and learn tools to cope with the effects of moving to another country.

Psychotherapy also seeks to address the difficulties of the adaptation process as well as pre- and post-migration concerns.

It promotes the creation of new social support networks, the strengthening of resilience in the face of adversity and the promotion of integration into the new environment, taking into account the personal and cultural values of the nomads and migrants as well as those of the host society.
